TOUR REPORT 2017-2018
Botany and Zoology Departmentsof D.R.W Degree
College III C.B.Z & III C.P.Z & III B.B.C 43 students along with 5Teaching
staff and 2 Non Teaching staff members,Went on a one day Study Tour On
21.12.2017 to Krishi Vigyan Kendram, S.P.S. R. Nellore, Botany staff members
are Smt.Y.Hemalatha, Smt.P.Subbarathnamma and Kum.U.Surekha .Zoology Staff
members are Dr.M.Bhavani, Smt.J. Latha and Non teaching staff members are
K.Meenakshi and M.Sankar Narayana.
We observed 4 types of
cultivations. First we visited Horticulture Department. Our guide was G.
Narayana Swamy, Horticulture Research Associate, who explained nicely. Started
with Orientation programme then practically explained, Land scape, Best seed line
development of rice
and pulses, Shade net
cultivation, Acid lime Nursery garden cultivation, Moringa plant cultivation,
Lawn Cultivation, Home gardening, Cutting cultivation and also explained about
mulching. The best Quality seeds and
flowers are developed and supply to farmers.
Mushroom
cultivation was explained by Dr. M .Pradeep; Research Associate,
First conducted
orientation class then experimentally explained. Two types of mushroom
cultivation occurring at Krishi Vigyan Kendram, Oyster & Milky mushrooms.
Oyster mushrooms durability is more than milky mushrooms, now oyster mushroom
cultivation is happening. Mushroom processing technology training classes are
conducted to interested farmers
Azolla to increase soil fertility. They are
cultivating Azolla under shaded shed 3 tanks are used for cultivation,
explained by Dr. S. Tulasi lakshmi
Vermicompost
& Azolla cultivation explained by Dr. S. Tulasi lakshmi cultivated under
shade.
